Stavros Theodorakis and Jyrki Katainen on entrepreneurship and investments

Leader of Potami Stavros Theodorakis met earlier today in Brussels with Jyrki Katainen, European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness.

Commissioner Katainen presented to Stavros Theodorakis the E.U. tools that can be used to boost entrepreneurship and innovation in Greece. According to Mr Katainen the main target is facilitating Greeks, who want to invest, to get direct help from the European Union, either in form of loans, or in form of direct financing, so that the economic activity in the country can be reheated. The only condition is the successful conclusion of the ongoing negotiations in Brussels and the reversal of uncertainty which prevails in the political landscape of the country.

At the same time, Stavros Theodorakis pointed out the duty of the wider European family to reinforce the solidarity framework toward Greeks, who try to produce and innovate under these adverse conditions. Potami MP Harry Theoharis referred more specifically to the need for the Greek banking system to play its role in the process of boosting entrepreneurship. It won't happen though as long as the banking system is trapped for so long in limbo, facing lack of liquidity, MP Theoharis said.

Stavros Theodorakis was accompanied by Potami MP Harry Theoharis and Potami International Relations Director Odine Linardatou.
