Grigorios Psarianos studied at the Department of Economics of the University of Piraeus.
He has worked as a journalist and radio producer, while he has also been active in entrepreneurship. He has always been politically active, representing left-wing ideologies. In 2007, he was elected MP for the first time. He is a decisive proponent of the European Union, defending the idea of equal cooperation and solidarity within the European Union, advocating that it must become much more than a mere monetary union.
