Communities: The third organizational pillar of Potami

“Communities” will be the third organizational pillar of the Movement. In fact, friends or members of Potami sharing common targets and interests (for example “Community of Brussels” or “Community of Businessmen in Amsterdam”) may establish their own community. This decision has been made in an effort to include and involve as many people as possible in the re-organizational process of Potami.

Potami's Central Organizational Committee of the Convention had its first meeting, in compliance with its Founding Statute. The members of the Organizational Committee talked about the organization of the Convention and elected their main representatives. During this meeting, the Committee focused on the main topics that must be addressed within the pre-convention dialogue. These topics are:

  • The political priorities of the Movement

  • The internal organization of the Movement

  • The update of the Statute

  • The Movement's collaboration with individuals and other movements

  • The financial support of the Movement

  • The relations between the Movement and the Youth

The Organizational Committee made specific decisions on the re-organization of the Movement's structure. From now on, there will be three separate levels.

  • Volunteers from the Local Groups

  • Members and experts from the Policy Sectors

  • The newly-formed “Communities

Communities” will be the third organizational pillar of the Movement. In fact, friends or members of Potami sharing common targets and interests (for example “Community of Brussels” or “Community of Businessmen in Amsterdam”) may establish their own community. This decision has been made in an effort to include and involve as many people as possible in the re-organizational process of Potami.

Every community must consist of, at least, 7 members and may elect 2 representatives, who will have the right to vote in the Convention of the Movement. Representatives will be able to physically attend the meeting or participate through video calls.

In case that you are interested in establishing such a Community so that you can share your ideas and proposals with us, feel free to contact us in intl@topotami.gr . Send us an email, indicating your Community's members and some basic information about them. Communities will be the third pillar of organization and a means for Potami friends to join the effort for the revival of the Movement.

Be part of our effort.
